- The Fig Tree (Ficus carica) variety FRANCESCA is a popular choice originating from the Mediterranean, and it is widely grown worldwide. It is suitable for cultivation in our conditions and is considered one of the most cold-resistant varieties.
- The growth of the FRANCESCA Fig Tree is moderate, reaching a height of up to 3 meters, depending on conditions and pruning. It can be cultivated as a tree or a shrub. The crown is evenly distributed.
- The fruits develop without pollination. They are approximately 50g in size. The color of the figs ranges from green to green-purple, and they have a pear-like shape. The fruits have a very sweet taste and juicy flesh. Figs are often consumed fresh, but they can also be dried or used in various dishes.
- The fruits ripen from September to October.
- The FRANCESCA Fig Tree is among the most cold-resistant varieties, tolerating frost down to -20 degrees Celsius. In the first years of cultivation, winter protection for the tree is advisable.
- The Fig Tree requires a sheltered location on the southern side and well-draining, slightly calcareous soil.
