Actinidia arguta
Actinidia arguta, also known as mini-kiwi, is a climbing woody plant native to Asian regions such as Korea, northern China, and Siberia. Its main advantage is its exceptional resistance to frost, as it can easily withstand temperatures dropping below -30 °C. The fruits of this fast-growing vine are about the size of a walnut, have smooth, edible skin, and have a sweet, delicious taste with a high vitamin C content. Interestingly, they ripen in October and are not damaged by the first autumn frosts. However, for a successful harvest, the plant needs at least 150 days of growing season, which makes it suitable for cultivation in locations up to 500 m above sea level. The first flowers, which appear in May, take about three years to appear. Since these are predominantly female plants, the presence of a male plant as a pollinator is essential for fruit production.
