- The DESERT KING fig tree is a variety of fig tree that originated in America. It is suitable for growing in our area. It tolerates temperatures down to -15.
- The growth of DESERT KING fig tree is strong, it forms a well-branched crown with strong upright shoots. It grows to a height of 3,5-4m.
- Fruits form without pollination. The fruits of DESERT KING are large and can be up to 90g. The colour is greenish yellow , yellow when fully ripe. The skin is thin. The flesh is reddish-purple. The taste is delicious, sweet and aromatic.
- The DESERT KING fig is an early variety. The fruit ripens in mid-summer.
- The DESERT KING fig is one of the hardiest varieties, tolerating spring temperature fluctuations and high rainfall well. Winter protection of the tree is advisable in the first years of cultivation.
- The fig tree requires a sheltered location on the south side and a permeable, slightly calcareous soil.
