The growth of the Brown Turkey Fig Tree is moderate, reaching a height of 3-4 meters depending on the conditions and pruning. It can be grown as a tree or a shrub. The crown is evenly distributed.
The fruits form without pollination. The size of the fruits is approximately 40g-50g. The color of the fig ranges from reddish-brown to purple. The shape of the fruit is pear-like. The fruits have a sweet taste and juicy flesh. Figs are often consumed fresh, but they can also be dried or processed into various dishes.
The fruits ripen from August to September.
The Brown Turkey Fig Tree is among the most cold-resistant varieties, tolerating frost down to -18 degrees Celsius. In the first years of cultivation, winter protection for the tree is advisable.
The fig tree requires a sheltered location on the southern side and well-draining, slightly calcareous soil.
