Almond (Prunus dulcis) 'Lauranne' ('Avijor')

Late self-fertile variety resistant to frost with large fruits.

'Lauranne' (sometimes sold as 'Avijor') is a modern French almond variety bred by INRAE. It is extremely popular for its self-fertility and late flowering, which helps it better withstand late spring frosts. It provides regular and high yields of quality nuts with a hard to semi-hard shell.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Self-fertility (does not require a pollinator).
  • Late flowering (escapes spring frosts).
  • High and regular yield.
  • Good frost resistance and disease resistance.
  • Excellent kernel taste.
