A new Latvian columnar variety with an excellent flavour reminiscent of 'Auksis'.
'Anite' ('D-2-94-20') is a new Latvian autumn columnar apple variety with compact, medium-vigorous growth. Thanks to its small size, it is ideal for small gardens, terraces, and balconies. It is valued for its excellent, aromatic flavour reminiscent of the parent variety 'Auksis', its early entry into bearing, and its abundant yield.

- Excellent sweet-tart flavour like the 'Auksis' variety.
- Columnar, compact growth ideal for small spaces.

- Very good frost resistance, including resistance of flowers to spring frosts.

Variety Characteristics
Tree
- Growth: Columnar, compact, medium-vigorous. It grows to a height of 2 – 2.5 m and branches little.
- Flowering: Blooms early, with large and beautiful flowers.
Fruit
- Size and shape: Medium to large, uniform, round-conical.
- Colour: The base colour is greenish-yellow, mostly covered with a washed red colour and fine stripes.
- Flesh: Yellowish, fine, firm, and juicy.
- Flavour: Excellent, aromatic, sweet-tart (semi-sweet), compared to the 'Auksis' variety.
- Use: Dessert, suitable for fresh consumption and for further processing.
