Plum (Prunus domestica) 'Centenar'

Highly productive Romanian variety with resistance to Sharka (PPV).

'Centenar' is one of the most significant Romanian plum varieties, bred at the Piteşti – Mărăcineni institute. It is valued for its exceptional resilience (frost, drought, diseases) and especially for its resistance to the Plum Pox Virus. It provides high yields of quality fruits that resemble the popular ‘Tuleu Gras’ variety in taste.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Resistance (high tolerance) to Plum Pox Virus (PPV).
  • High and constant yield (potential up to 30 t/ha).
  • Large fruits with a small stone.
  • Resistance to frost and drought.
  • Excellent taste.
