Plum (Prunus domestica) 'Topend Plus®'
Very late self-fertile variety with large fruits and Sharka tolerance.
'Topend Plus®' is a modern German plum variety created by crossing 'Cacanska Najbolja' and 'Valor'. It is valued primarily for its very late ripening (until mid-October), which extends the fresh plum season. It is characterized by large, high-quality fruits, self-fertility, and high tolerance to Sharka.
Main advantages of the variety:
- Very late ripening (late September – mid-October).
- Self-fertility and high, regular yield.
- Large fruits (approx. 65 g) with firm flesh.
- Long storage life and resistance to rot.
- Tolerance to resistance against Plum Pox Virus (Sharka).

Variety Characteristics
Tree
- Vigor: Weak to medium strong, upright crown.
- Yield: Early to mid-early onset, high and regular yield. Flowers on one-year and older wood.
Fruit
- Size and Weight: Very large (approx. 65 g).
- Shape and Color: Oval to elongated. Steel blue to purple-blue skin with bloom.
- Flesh: Light yellow, firm, juicy. Separates well from the stone.
- Taste: Excellent, sweet-sour, aromatic. High sugar content.
- Usage: Versatile – fresh consumption, canning, distillation (due to sugar), storage.
Resistance and Requirements
- Resistance: Tolerant to resistant to Sharka. Not affected by Monilinia or rust. Frost hardy, suitable for all areas.
- Requirements: Undemanding regarding location. Prefers sunny spots and permeable soil.
Cultivation Recommendations
- Pollination: Self-fertile (does not require a pollinator).
- Pruning: Maintenance pruning and shortening shoots after planting is recommended.
