Family Apple Tree (4 in 1): Pervinka + Gita + Dace + Spartan

An outstanding fruit tree combining top Baltic, Russian, and Canadian varieties. Experience a sequential harvest from early September and enjoy your own apples throughout the winter.

1. Apple 'Pervinka' (Early Autumn Variety)

A Russian cultivar with shiny, smooth skin and a highly valued dessert flavor, kicking off the harvest on this tree.

The 'Pervinka' variety opens the autumn season on the tree. Originating from the prestigious All-Russian Research Institute (VNIISPK), it stands out not only for its high yield and frost hardiness but especially for its top tasting score (4.3 out of 5). It is a reliable variety that bears fruit on short spurs.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Dessert flavor: Sweet-sour, very juicy flesh with a pleasant aroma.
  • Excellent immunity: Thanks to the Vm gene, it is reliably resistant to apple scab.
  • Attractive appearance: Smooth, shiny skin almost entirely covered with a cherry-red blush.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance and size: Medium to larger fruits, turnip-conical shape with ribbing.
  • Harvest Time: Late August to early September.
  • Storability: Short-term (lasts until late October). Intended for immediate consumption or autumn processing.

2. Apple 'Gita' (Autumn Variety)

A dark red Latvian beauty with crunchy flesh, delivering extremely rich crops in mid-September.

The harvest baton is smoothly passed to 'Gita', a successful cross of 'Liberty' and 'Melba'. It attracts with large dark leaves, strong growth, and huge, deep dark red fruits that decorate the canopy.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Premium quality: Large, visually highly attractive fruits with a white waxy bloom.
  • Crunchy flesh: Firm, crunchy, and very juicy creamy-white flesh.
  • High resistance: Scab-resistant (Vf/Rvi6 gene) with good frost hardiness.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Flavor: Very good, sweet-sour, and refreshing (Brix 11–14%).
  • Harvest Time: In mid-September (at the same time as 'Auksis'). The fruits hold very well on the tree.
  • Storability: Keeps for 2 to 3 months in a standard cold room.

3. Apple 'Dace' (Autumn to Early Winter Variety)

A large apple with distinct sweetness, firm flesh, and crop self-regulation, eliminating the need for fruit thinning.

Right after 'Gita', the Latvian variety 'Dace' (2009) ripens. It features a compact growth habit, preventing the tree from growing unnecessarily large branches. It bears regularly and heavily every year.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Large, uniform fruits: 70 – 100 mm in diameter with an intense bluish waxy bloom.
  • No thinning required: The variety naturally regulates fruit set, ensuring fruits are always large.
  • 100% scab resistance: Fully resistant to apple scab (Vf/Rvi6 gene).
Fruit and Harvest
  • Taste and flesh: Creamy, medium-firm, dense, and juicy flesh. Flavor is sweet-sour with a distinct sweetness.
  • Harvest Time: During September (harvested without waiting for fruit drop).
  • Storability: In standard cold storage until January, in ULO storage until March.

4. Apple 'Spartan' (Winter Variety)

Canada's proudest contribution to fruit growing. Purplish-red apples with crunchy snowy-white flesh and notes of wine.

The winter finale on this tree belongs to the legendary Canadian variety 'Spartan' (1936), a descendant of the famous 'McIntosh'. This is a globally known winter apple with crunchy, snowy-white flesh and an excellent sweet-sour taste, maintaining its popularity for over 75 years.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Gourmet flavor: Very juicy, crunchy, and tender flesh with notes of berries and wine.
  • Attractive appearance: The fruits take on a gorgeous, dark purplish-red color in the sun.
  • Hang time: Ripe fruits do not drop and can hang on the tree for an additional 2 to 3 weeks.
  • Good storability in cold storage (3 to 4 months).
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Small to medium-sized, round fruits (fruit thinning is recommended for larger sizes).
  • Harvest Time: Early October. After harvest, when kept outside the fridge, the flesh softens faster, so cool storage is recommended.
