Family Multi-Cherry Tree (2 in 1): Eva + Agris

A highly rare and winter-hardy Baltic combination of two distinct sweet cherry varieties on a single trunk – the Estonian 'Eva' and the Latvian rarity 'Agris'.

1. Cherry 'Eva' (Early variety)

An exceptionally rare Estonian variety yielding beautiful red fruits, showing good cold hardiness and a robust health profile.

At the beginning of July, the Estonian variety 'Eva' ripens. It is a highly sought-after collector's item maintained at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre in Estonia under the registration number EST2334 (reference planting year 2001). The tree exhibits reliable yields, good frost resistance, and excellent overall health.

Key advantages of the variety:

  • Collector's rarity: A unique sweet cherry variety from the northern Baltic region, perfect for enthusiasts.
  • Excellent hardiness: Good winter hardiness in the wood and buds, alongside great natural resistance to common cherry diseases.
  • Universal utility: The sweet fruits are ideal for fresh consumption straight from the tree as well as home processing.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance and taste: Medium to large (approx. 5 g) round fruits of a red to dark red color, offering a pleasant, well-balanced sweet flavor.
  • Harvest period: Early July.
  • Grower's note: Prefers a planting site well-protected from cold northern winds. Requires soil with an optimal pH range of 5.5 – 6.5. The variety is self-sterile (pollinates perfectly with its 'Agris' partner on the tree).

2. Cherry 'Agris' (Early variety)

A rare Latvian sweet cherry of moderate vigor, yielding soft, extremely juicy flesh and an outstanding sweet-tart flavor.

In late June, the Latvian sweet cherry 'Agris' matures. It was bred by Latvian pomologists Roberts āboliņš and Aleksandrs Maizītis. This is an exceptionally rare variety of moderate growth, ripening early to deliver delicious late-June harvests.

Key advantages of the variety:

  • High exclusivity: Ranks among the rarest of Latvian sweet cherry selections, ideal for private home gardens.
  • Juicy fresh eating: The soft, intensely juicy flesh provides a highly refreshing summer treat.
  • Excellent flavor: Apples show a harmonious, pleasant sweet-tart flavor profile with a fine aroma.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Medium-sized, slightly flattened fruits of a bright red to dark red color.
  • Harvest period: Late June (third decade of the month).
  • Pollination: The variety is self-sterile. Along with the variety 'Eva' on the tree, it forms a perfectly balanced system for successful mutual pollination.
