Winter Romanian variety with long storage life and large fruits.
'Latina' is a modern Romanian pear variety bred at the SCDP Cluj station. It is popular for its large, buttery fruits with exceptional taste and excellent storage life, lasting up to 5 months. Additionally, it shows tolerance to the dreaded pest – the pear psylla.
Main advantages of the variety:
- Long storage life (4 – 5 months).
- Large fruits (approx. 218 g) with excellent taste.
- Buttery flesh with a low amount of stone cells.
- High yield and early bearing onset.
- Tolerance to pear psylla.
