'Luca' is a modern winter apple variety bred at the SCDP Voinești station and registered in 2006. It is popular for its excellent health status (resistance to Scab) and high production potential, making it suitable for both intensive and organic orchards.

Main advantages of the variety:

• Resistance to Scab.
• Increased resistance to Powdery Mildew.
• High production potential (30 – 35 t/ha).
• Quality fruits with firm and juicy flesh.
• Good storage life (until February).

Variety Characteristics

Tree

• Vigor: Medium.
• Bearing: Bears fruit predominantly on short wood. Has high production potential (30 – 35 t/ha).

Fruit

• Size and Weight: Medium size, 160 – 165 g.
• Shape and Color: Round, slightly flattened. Base color is covered with red color on approx. 2/3 of the surface.
• Flesh: Yellowish, firm, and juicy.
• Taste: Sweet, very good.
• Usage: Intended for fresh consumption.
