Family Apple Tree (4 in 1): Beržeņinku Ananass + Dace + Antonovka + Bohēmija

A unique fruit collection combining resilient Baltic legends, the classic Russian baking apple 'Antonovka', and the luxurious Czech dessert variety 'Bohemia'.

1. Apple 'Beržeņinku Ananass' (Autumn Variety)

A famous Lithuanian jewel featuring large fruits, high disease resistance, and an unsurpassed pineapple fragrance.

The season on this tree is opened by 'Beržeņinku Ananass' (syn. Beržininkų ananasas), an old variety discovered in 1886. It is highly valued for its large fruits, which turn a beautiful ivory color at maturity, and its excellent health profile.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Aromatic Flavor: Outstanding, sweet-sour taste with a typical, robust pineapple note.
  • Large Fruits: Average weight of up to 155 g.
  • High Resistance: Fully resistant to scab, powdery mildew, and fruit rot.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Roundish-conical fruits, yellow to ivory with an orange blush on the sunny side. The flesh is firm and juicy.
  • Harvest Time: Late August to early September. Keeps in the cellar until December.

2. Apple 'Dace' (Autumn to Early Winter Variety)

A large, attractive red apple with an intensive waxy bloom, ripening right after 'Auksis'.

The baton is smoothly passed to the modern Latvian variety 'Dace' (2009). It features a compact growth habit and excellent branching. It is extremely productive, bearing heavily and regularly every year, with a natural crop self-regulation ability that ensures large fruits.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Large, sweet fruits: 70 – 100 mm in diameter, with a distinct sweetness.
  • No thinning required: The tree naturally regulates crop load, keeping fruits consistently large.
  • Resistance: Fully resistant to apple scab (Vf/Rvi6 gene).
Fruit and Harvest
  • Taste and Flesh: Creamy, medium-firm, dense, and juicy flesh. Flavor is sweet-sour with a distinct sweetness.
  • Harvest Time: During September (harvested without waiting for fruit drop).
  • Storability: In standard cold storage until January, in ULO storage until March.

3. Apple 'Antonovka' (Winter Variety)

The legendary Russian winter apple. The embodiment of absolute resilience, winter hardiness, and an unmatched baking aroma.

The Russian folk legend 'Antonovka' is known for its extreme cold hardiness (withstanding frosts down to -40 °C). It is an excellent pollinator for other varieties on this tree, and its fruits with their unmistakable strong scent are the absolute global top tier for baking pies and processing.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Extreme frost hardiness: The hardiest variety, ideal for harsh and mountain conditions (down to -40 °C / -40 °F).
  • Unbeatable for processing: The best apple for pies, purees, ciders, and jams.
  • Unmistakable scent: Unique, strong fruit aroma typical of this variety.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance and taste: Medium to large, slightly ribbed fruits of greenish-yellow color. Refreshing sweet-sour taste (suitable for diabetics due to lower sugar content).
  • Harvest Time: Mid-September. Keeps in the cellar in excellent condition until January.

4. Apple 'Bohemia' (Early Winter Variety)

One of the finest Czech varieties. Bright red, large fruits with a crunchy, sweet dessert flavor and excellent storability.

The winter finale on this tree belongs to the outstanding Czech variety 'Bohemia' (color sport of the famous 'Rubín'). It is highly appreciated for its very attractive, large fruits and its excellent sweet taste, making it a top-tier dessert fruit.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Dessert Quality: Sweet, fragrant, and highly aromatic taste (rated 4.5 out of 5).
  • Huge Fruits: Large, uniformly round, dark red apples that do not require thinning.
  • Excellent Storability: Keeps in the cellar in top condition until February/March.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Harvest Time: Late September. Eating maturity begins from mid-October.
  • Pruning and Vigor: The variety bears fruit on the tips of long canes, which is why it requires specific, gentle pruning (one-year wood must not be shortened regularly).
