Family Apple Tree (4 in 1): Bumbierābele + Rīgas Rožābele + Beržeņinku Ananass + Ligol

A unique fruit-harvest relay on a single trunk. Enjoy sequential ripening from summer pear notes through the fragrant Baltic Pineapple apple up to the Polish winter star 'Ligol' with a shelf life until May.

1. Apple 'Bumbierābele' (Summer Variety)

Tallinn Pear Apple – a rare 18th-century Estonian variety featuring a distinct and sweet pear-like flavor.

The season on this tree is opened by 'Bumbierābele' (historically known as Tallinna pirnõun). It is one of the oldest recorded northern varieties, highly prized for its exceptional flavor and used for centuries in breeding programs. It offers a unique, pear-like taste.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Historical Gem: A traditional, time-tested landrace from Estonia.
  • Pear-like Flavor: Very sweet fruits with soft, melting flesh and a distinct pear note.
  • Hardiness: Excellent wood frost resistance.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Medium-sized, broad-conical fruits (60 – 100 g). The greenish-yellow to whitish base color is almost completely covered with deep red and prominent striping.
  • Harvest Time: Second half of August.
  • Storability: Very short, meant for immediate consumption or quick processing.

2. Apple 'Rīgas Rožābele' (Late Summer Variety)

Riga Pink Apple – an exceptionally adaptable Latvian variety with juicy flesh, thriving easily even in poorer soils.

At the turn of August and September, the Latvian seedling 'Rīgas Rožābele' (1940) ripens. It is characterized by low vigor, making it a perfect fit for a multi-grafted tree, and good resistance to scab.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Soil tolerance: Grows well even where other varieties fail.
  • Weaker Vigor: Ideal for maintaining the compact habit of a family tree.
  • Excellent Health: Good resistance to scab and apple canker.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Small to medium-sized, ribbed yellow apples with red stripes. Less visually striking, but exceptionally tasty.
  • Taste: Very juicy, tender, pleasantly sweet-sour.
  • Harvest Time: Late August. Can be stored short-term, unlike typical summer varieties.

3. Apple 'Beržeņinku Ananass' (Autumn Variety)

A famous Lithuanian jewel featuring large fruits, high disease resistance, and an unsurpassed pineapple fragrance.

In early autumn, 'Beržeņinku Ananass' (syn. Beržininkų ananasas), an old variety discovered in 1886, takes the stage. It is highly valued for its large fruits, which turn a beautiful ivory color at maturity, and its excellent health profile.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Aromatic Flavor: Outstanding, sweet-sour taste with a typical, robust pineapple note.
  • Large Fruits: Average weight of up to 155 g.
  • High Resistance: Fully resistant to scab, powdery mildew, and fruit rot.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Roundish-conical fruits, yellow to ivory with an orange blush on the sunny side. The flesh is firm and juicy.
  • Harvest Time: Late August to early September. Keeps in the cellar until December.

4. Apple 'Ligol' (Long-storing Winter Variety)

Poland's top commercial producer! Giant apples with crunchy, sweet-sour flesh that last in the cellar until May.

The family tree is grandly completed by the Polish commercial legend 'Ligol'. A cross of 'Linda' x 'Golden Delicious', it provides apples of gigantic proportions that do not shrivel and remain firm and juicy even after months in storage. It is the perfect winter vitamin supply for your family.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Extremely long storability: Apples do not shrivel and maintain their quality in storage until May.
  • Giant fruits: Visually attractive, large to very large apples with a carmine blush.
  • Gourmet quality: Juicy, crunchy, and firm flesh with a refreshing sweet-sour taste.
  • Pollination: An excellent pollinator for other varieties, and it greatly benefits from the presence of the other varieties on this tree.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance and Flavor: Greenish-yellow base color with an intense carmine-red blush.
  • Harvest Time: In the first decade of October.
  • Cultivation Tip: To maintain regular crops and prevent biennial bearing, this variety requires stricter fruit thinning and calcium applications to prevent bitter pit.
