Family Multi-Plum Tree (2 in 1): Eksperimentālfeltets + Victoria

An extraordinary combination of an exceptionally rare, highly sweet Swedish variety and the legendary, heavy-yielding British classic on a single trunk.

1. Plum 'Eksperimentālfeltets' (Medium-early to late variety)

An exceptionally rare and sweet Swedish heritage variety boasting a remarkably high sugar content, rich aroma, and a characteristically pointed stone.

From the second half of August through September, the historical variety 'Eksperimentālfeltets' matures (known in its homeland as 'Experimentalfältets Sviskon'). Today, this Swedish plum is highly sought-after by collectors, especially due to the outstanding sweet flavor of its fruits and its incredibly high sugar content.

Key advantages of the variety:

  • Outstanding sweetness: Ranks among the plums with the highest sugar levels (regularly achieving 18 – 20 °Brix), with highly aromatic flesh.
  • Excellent for preserving: Ripe fruits hold their shape perfectly and do not crack when processed or sterilized in compotes.
  • Self-fertility: Fully self-fertile, although cropping is significantly enhanced by the presence of 'Victoria' on the same tree.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Medium-sized, oblong-oval fruits of a dark red to brownish color, overlaid with a prominent, light blue waxy bloom. The greenish-yellow flesh is firm and juicy.
  • Harvest period: Second half of August to early September.
  • Technical specifications: Total acid content is low, at just 1.2%. The stone features characteristically pointed ends and separates cleanly from the flesh. Shows moderate winter hardiness and good transportability.

2. Plum 'Victoria' (Medium-late to late variety)

The legendary British plum classic, famous for its extreme productivity, full self-fertility, large fruits, and outstanding versatility.

In mid-September, the famous English variety 'Victoria' (syn. Denyer's Victoria) reaches eating ripeness. Discovered as a chance seedling in Alderton, Suffolk, and named in honor of Queen Victoria, it was introduced to the market in 1844. It quickly became an absolute standard across European home gardens due to its precocious and heavy cropping.

Key advantages of the variety:

  • Enormous cropping: Enters bearing early and yields massive, consistent crops. It also serves as an excellent universal pollinator for other plum varieties.
  • Attractive appearance: Large, oval-to-ovoid fruits featuring a beautiful reddish-violet to purple-red skin.
  • Easy peeling: The shiny skin can be peeled away from the flesh with exceptional ease.
  • Universal utility: Highly satisfying for eating fresh from the tree, and outstanding for jams, pies, crumbles, and stewing.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Flesh and flavor: Pale yellow, firm, and juicy flesh with a slightly coarse texture. When fully ripe, the flavor is harmonious, sweet, and of excellent quality.
  • Harvest period: Mid-September (ripening is fairly uniform).
  • Grower's note: Due to extreme overcropping, the tree can exhaust itself (which may shorten its overall lifespan) and branches can easily break under the weight of the fruit. Radical fruit thinning in summer is absolutely critical. In wet weather or when tightly clustered, fruits can be prone to brown rot (monilia).
