The Moldova grape variety, which originates from Moldova, is a popular late table variety prized for its resistance and excellent taste. It ripens in late September and early October. This variety is characterized by strong and vigorous growth, so it thrives best on tall trellises and horizontal pergolas. Moldova is self-pollinating and known for its high and regular yield.
The clusters are large, conical to cylindrical-conical in shape, moderately dense and can weigh from 400 to 600 grams, sometimes up to one kilogram. The berries are also large, oval, weighing 6 to 8 grams, and are dark blue to purple in color. The flesh is fleshy, crisp and juicy, with a delicious and harmonious taste. The firm and thick skin of the berries ensures good transportability and long shelf life.
