'Cukuriņš sarkanais' (meaning "Red Candy") is an old Latvian folk selection variety. It is valued for its very high frost resistance and fruits with a very good, sweet, and aromatic flavour. Its main disadvantages are a smaller fruit size and a late entry into bearing.
