Popular early Ukrainian variety of yellow Dogwood NEŽNYJ with excellent taste, suitable for direct consumption. It starts bearing fruit in the first year after planting. It is characterized by high frost resistance up to -30°C and high disease resistance.
The growth is upright in the first year, growing rapidly and can have up to 50cm growth. In the following years, the growth slows down. Pruning is not necessary, but if needed, shaping pruning can be done.
Dogwood are self-pollinating plants, but for a higher and better quality yield, it is advisable to have another plant for pollination. The Dogwood bloom in March, and the flowers tolerate light frost well.
The fruits are large, elongated-ovoid, bright yellow when fully ripe, with an average fruit weight of 5 - 7 g. The flesh is dense, juicy, with a full sweet-tart taste.
The ripening period is early, from late July to early August. The yield is high and regular. The yield from one mature bush is around 32 - 47 kg of fruit.
Ripe fruits are very tasty fresh, but they are also suitable for processing into jelly, jam, fruit juices, syrups, or candied fruit. Dogwood are resistant to diseases and pests and have high frost resistance. Regular watering is advisable during fruit ripening.
