'Viorel' is an attractive Romanian flat peach variety ("donut" type). It is characterized by large fruits with white flesh, which is exceptional for being delicious both when firm and crunchy, and when allowed to soften slightly. Growers appreciate its resistance to diseases and fruit cracking.

Variety Characteristics

Tree

• Vigor: Medium.
• Rootstock Myrobalan C5: Tree growth on this rootstock is similar to the St. Julien rootstock. The advantage of the Myrobalan C5 rootstock is that it tolerates drought, water stress, and poorer soil conditions better.

Fruit

• Size and Weight: Large, weighing 150 – 180 g.
• Shape and Color: Flat ("sandwich"), symmetrical. Base color is white-green, covered with light red blush on 75–85% of the surface.
• Flesh: White, firm (white-fleshed).
